Nothing to report!

Pappawas1975 - 5-10-2005 at 14:32

I talked to Dave at G and S yesterday, and asked him whether or not he had any "sneak preview" info on upcoming Zappa releases. He didnt, he ( like alot of us too, it seems ) has been trying to get hold of the ZFT for more stock for a while now. So, apart from The Dub Room Special coming out on the 17th Oct, its the usual stuff we have already heard, i.e two releases before the end of the year, etc etc......Im thinking now that Trance Fusion will be put back until the ZPZ tour, but you never know.....It was announced 10 years ago, along with Dance Me This, The Rage And The Fury, Lost Episodes II etc etc, so I guess I / we are used to it!!!......One thing though, contact G and S for anything you may want, as he is cutting his prices! CPIII is now only £30, but is in limited supply!!! END OF (crappy) NEWSFLASH

Ah Hot Rats status....

wazoodust - 10-10-2005 at 14:41

Civilazation phaze 3 needs a wider release!

Pappawas1975 - 11-10-2005 at 11:06

It does, but at the same time the whole mail order only adds to its charm in a wierd way. Funny how people paying up to £50 for it on e-Bay, and you can get a brand new sealed copy from G and S for £30.....

Pappawas1975 - 11-10-2005 at 11:08

In fact, go on there now, and somebody has it for $99.99!!! Thats £56!....Crazy, but I guess you cant blame the guy for trying....

It's a shame how expensive Zappa's lesser known works can be...

The irony being that this CPIII is Zappas greatest work, and should be heralded as so, IMO.

James - 12-10-2005 at 21:28

Yeah I agree.

Along with 200 Motels and Everything Is Healing Nicely. I remember the amazing feeling I was imbued with upon buying Civ. III post Zappa's Earthly departure. Around 1994/1995, I saw it everywhere. Now, I'm lucky if I can even find my copy amongst the corpses littering my house, and the old coffee cups stuffed with moulds called Herbert and Duane.

Pappawas1975 - 21-10-2005 at 11:33

I know what you mean. I used to see it everywhere too, and, due to the nature of the original Zappa records versions packaging, every time you saw copies, the more damaged and roughed up they became!

mutronboy - 17-11-2005 at 15:39

Does that mean the newer versions aren't Digipac with the black cd's?

ooh...I must have a collectors item

I'll never sell it, though

unless it comes out on DVD-A

Gail?...are you listening?

Pappawas1975 - 23-11-2005 at 15:26

No, they were digis too, but alot more durable than the original Zappa Recs version....

Yes I am, mutron.

Oh fuck, my user name, avatar etc. gives it away doesn't it.

Pappawas1975 - 25-11-2005 at 10:03

DOH!.....Thought for a minute there you were starting a forum rumour, as has happened on zappa.com many a time! All it takes is for someone to post they are Gail or Dweezil, or whoever, and somebody goes for it......By the way, I am really Joe Travers.....Mail me for release requests.....
