My copy of Dub Room was posted today, so hopefully will get it Monday. I figured Id start a post regarding it now, rather than have a thousand of em kicking about the place......Will let you know my thoughts after Ive seen it. Am really looking forward to it.....

Ive never seen it! I bought Uncle Meat, 200 Motels, Video from Hell, Baby Snakes and The Amazing Mr Bickford when they came out, but the VHS Dub Room had been out of print when I was getting into Zappa, so never got a chance to see it, so yeah, am definitely looking forward to it....Also keeping my eyes out for a copy of The True Story Of 200 Motels all the while.....

Check DRS out today, very cool...Great to see the 1974 band in a live situation, which I have never seen before. The 82 band is a little less entertaining, but great nonetheless......I recommend it anyway! Not so sure about the ZFTs plans to release the soundtrack on Cd though, while cool, seems pretty pointless when theres heaps of unreleased stuff in the vaults wed all rather have out......

Approximate on DRS is great to watch. That band could really fucking play...

I bid on DubRoom on Australian eBay..it's my only hope of getting it here

Couldn't believe seeing it on Amazon in the US for $12 !!
Why is Gail letting it out so cheap...are they desperate?

This Australian one better be PAL as advertised or I'll get all pooey

I'm curious as to whether KCET would still have the tapes of the entire concert?

If so...I would've preferred that...I'm sure DubRoom only has half the show, 'cos I downloaded an MP3 of it

There's a cheapo bootleg DVD of the entire KCET show for sale in lots of major record stores here for like 5 euro. The picture quality is less-than-stunning, but pretty watchable. Bootleggers suck though, and it's better to get stuff like that through trading. I'm pretty sure the ZFT owns the rights to the KCET show, as they are promising to release the entire thing in the liner notes of DRS.

I think they're kinda testing the market for Zappa DVDs with Baby Snakes and DRS. Let's hope these sell well or the rest of the stuff will remain in the vault forever.
