further to a conversation some friends and i were having about films the other night,i decided to seek your opinions on the matter of trilogies-what are the best trilogies of all time, usually one of the three films will let the series down, example MAD MAX, m.m1 and 2 are cool but mad max 3 beyond thunderdome lets the series down i.m.o

STAR WARS doesn't really count anymore because george lucas ruined in by making requells although star wars return of the jedi and empire strikes back are excellent it can't count as a trilogy anymore

my nominations for the catagory are

the godfather trilogy

and back to the future

what are yours-??

About te only one I'm sure of I've seen it in full and can remember it, is Lord Of The Rings. I've seen Back To The Future too, but too long ago.
The Rings set is a treat to watch... probably better if you haven't read the books first.

vivien_o_blivion - 3-9-2006 at 20:46

oh yeah just thought of some more, how could i forget

scallopino - 4-9-2006 at 08:51

"The Godfather...

sing it James Brown

Reality..that's the thing for me..." and so on.

punknaynowned - 12-10-2006 at 22:27

I like the Lord of the Rings.
but I also liked KOYAANISQATSI, POWAAQATSI and the other one that I always forget the name of.
you'll probably see that I'm a fan of the star wars 6.
I might watch episode 3 again, tonight.

:puzzled: What?

scallopino - 20-10-2008 at 03:26

:D Jaws 3 is the most under-rated movie of all time.

Huck_Phlem - 20-10-2008 at 04:46

Yea but Jaws 4 is the worst of the trilogy!

I saw it in San Antonio at that Alamo themed movie house that smells like urine and fell asleep for 20 minutes and apparently didn't miss a thing!

scallopino - 20-10-2008 at 07:43

If I remember right Jaws 3 is about a water theme park, and they decide to capture a shark and then its mum gets angry and wants revenge. What is Jaws 4 about?

BBP - 20-10-2008 at 16:00

Ooh was it a water theme park? I vaguely remember people running through a leaking tube.

Somehow I never got into Jaws.

scallopino - 21-10-2008 at 05:28

Yes! I do believe there was a leaking tube. But the only one you should see is the first one.

zombie1210 - 22-10-2008 at 00:07

In Jaws 7 the shark kidnaps a baby and holds it for ransom.

Best Trilogy?

LOR of course......but I enjoyed The Matrix quite a bit, even though the second one seemed like filler.

Huck_Phlem - 22-10-2008 at 04:45

Awww Fuck it was a joke! get it jawwwws 4?

scallopino - 22-10-2008 at 10:50

There is a Jaws 4 though isn't there?

BBP - 22-10-2008 at 13:02

What are jaws for?

scallopino - 23-10-2008 at 05:32

Maybe for trying to squeeze every cent out of an idea that really only worked the first time.

Huck_Phlem - 23-10-2008 at 06:48

Yes there is and i saw it in San Antonio Texas. It was a joke of a movie too!

scallopino - 23-10-2008 at 21:21

What was it about? I remember seeing some tv show a long time ago which mentioned that it used REAL FOOTAGE of sharks in some places. Being a kid at the time, i thought i MUST see it. I didn't.

MTF - 2-3-2009 at 06:06

Did you hear about the new Exorcist movie?

It's about a possessed hen that lays deviled eggs...

BBP - 2-3-2009 at 10:00

Sounds like something Terry Gilliam directs... Who plays the hen?

scallopino - 2-3-2009 at 12:42

Maybe Hennifer Anniston. Or Jennifer Annist-hen.

MTF - 3-3-2009 at 09:49

Aw damn. I shoulda said it was a duck...

BBP - 3-3-2009 at 15:50

A duck will always get me going!

BBP - 31-5-2009 at 22:41

Watched the 2nd installment of the Dollars trilogy (A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly) and I don't think movies can get better than that...
