Surely you must have seen my dragon-pic at one time or another in the Zappa-forum:

This actually appeared in a comic, the promotional Fata Morgana, a Suske & Wiske-comic. (Brits may know them as Willy and Wanda, Spike & Suzy, Bob & Bobette, Frenchies as Bob et Bobette) The earlier comics from this series are highly catholic, so I was surprised to find a Zappa-reference in them.

I was getting bored with the Official Zappa Forum after getting worn out by some of the attacks and had only posted once in about a week. Yeeeh, carnt cumplaayyyn. ;-)

And i still write Austria because i still think it's funny that two countries so different and far apart could have nearly the same name. I consider it a stuff up of the largest magnitude.

Yeah sometimes i can stop just in time
saw "help me I'm a rock" was a title too
So in to the google picture search again and remembered rock as stone. Found myself a nice picture of Sharon Stone.
In photodraw I added a balloon with "Help"
I asked bbp what she think about it. But than she came up with the fact that it was not stone but rock. I gave up.:crying:

I can appreciate the joke in it, but it is only valid in English.
The official name of Austria is in German, their official language.
Austria is named "Republik Österreich" In Dutch "Oostenrijk" and in French L'Autriche. (land in the east)

The name Australia is derived from the Latin Australis, meaning of the South. Legends of an "unknown land of the south" (terra australis incognita) date back to the Roman times and were commonplace in mediaeval geography, but they were not based on any actual knowledge of the continent. The Dutch adjectival form Australische ("Australian", in the sense of "southern") was used by Dutch officials in Batavia to refer to the newly discovered land to the south as early as 1638. The first use of the word "Australia" in English was a 1693 translation of Les Aventures de Jacques Sadeur dans la Découverte et le Voyage de la Terre Australe, a 1692 French novel by Gabriel de Foigny under the pen name Jacques Sadeur

I do have a questionmark about the french name for Austria
since east is l'est and Österreich is translated into L'Autriche.

Wow this is kind a :offtopic::D

No, you know I was only joking don't you? As DED says, it's a bit off topic so in an attempt to make it more relevant, I was thinking about what you said about the two letters difference and realised it could be used as a cryptic clue in a crossword: Call me an Australian who resides in Austria. Mind you, it's not a Zappa title.

polydigm - 4-4-2006 at 05:07

Hey BBP, you haven't told me if my guess for your previous one is correct. Was it "The Torture Never Stops"? This new one with the yellow car, the image location says it's a spider, so is it "Spider Of Destiny"? Or is it "Do You Like My NewCar?"?

BBP - 4-4-2006 at 10:05

Is there a Zappa song called "Do you like my new car"? Or do you mean "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy"?

Yeah it was "The Torture Never Stops" and "Spider of Destiny"! Well guessed!

I saw the documentary of crossfire with Zappa in wich Frank was attacked by this guy. Than Bonny showed me an album with titles. The title I found matches closely the feeling Frank must have had during the program.

I'm all for cryptic clues DED, but that was way cryptic. Mind you, I can imagine Zappa singing "Why Don'tcha Do Me Right?" in response to maltreatment from the media, but there was no way of knowing that the pic was referring to a bad experience had by Zappa. Don't give up though, attempting to make them cryptic is a good idea, I think. Of course I haven't managed to come up with a good one myself, maybe next weekend.

polydigm - 6-4-2006 at 00:07

Anyway guys, I know it's not a Zappa Song, but what is the song "Call me an Australian who resides in Austria"? If I tell you whose song it is it will be too easy, although it seems pretty easy to me as it stands.
