Yesterday I worked too lte by accident. I'd started half an hour earlier and ended up leaving 25 minutes after work ended, so not much progress :/

On the way home, as I approached a busy crossing, an ambulance chopper hovered over the road. Had to cross the road on foot, bicycle by the hand. Five police cars, fire brigade, 2 ambulances were still on the scene.

Had I not left too late, I could have witnessed a horrible car crash, where a car ran into a pedestrian at high speed. The pedestrian didn't make it.

In miscellaneous news, there is serious train delay between home and work, which is very annoying. Today I was so ocused on leaving early and taking the bus, that I forgot to take my medication - or bring it for lunch.

Eddie RUKidding - 18-6-2024 at 23:14

At least you missed the crash

Plook - 18-6-2024 at 23:46

Yes it is no fun witnessing something like that, I have and it sticks with you.

polydigm - 21-6-2024 at 16:02

I've just released my new album on BandCamp.

Delusions Of Grandeur

I would ask you to just look up the artist Turbulator, but unfortunately for me, there are a whole bunch of items, including another artist, that come up with the search term of Turbulator. I'm particularly attached to it, so won't be changing it any time soon. That other Turbulator is from the Netherlands I think and hasn't been active for many years. Step aside, I'm just getting started!!

Maybe I need to be an artist with at least one album for some time before I appear in searches.

Anyway, I've already sold a copy of the digital album. I think it might be Arkay from zappa.com days. I was taken very much by surprise because I wasn't expecting it to sell. The notification popped up by surprise in the middle of me designing my page banner, not long after I'd published the album.

ursinator2.0 - 21-6-2024 at 19:48

Congrats on that major step, the first million is always the hardest to earn, as they say in the trade ;-)
My "little" sister (54 years old) has released two novels in the past months and put lots of money, time, and effort into it but it is very hard to gain a name in the biz, maybe some day? Hope it will work out better/faster in your case.
Btw, did you shoot the coverphoto by yourself (and what is the meaning of the bottle opener)?

BBP - 21-6-2024 at 21:22

Aww sweet of Arkay! Congrats on your sale!

Had a rough week for it, due to train constructions my commuting time doubled, but I hope it'll be over after this weekend.

Yes. It’s a kind of sculpture I put together a while ago on a shelf in my studio. Beer is mentioned in one of the songs and also in the program.

ursinator2.0 - 23-6-2024 at 20:50

I see, so your obviously not only talented in sculpturing air molecules ;-)
My first guess about the bottle opener was that it might be related to the trash container in terms of producing/avoiding/recycling waste.

polydigm - 24-6-2024 at 20:24

The main intention is that it relates to the theme of delusions of grandeur.

BBP - 25-6-2024 at 14:56

Back in the doctor's cycle, even took sick leave today. Oh help.

polydigm - 25-6-2024 at 20:04

Sorry to hear that Bonny. All the best.

BBP - 28-6-2024 at 11:32

Called the doctor today to see if we can put in some blood work today. In the mean time Im waiting. I'm too faint to do very much though. Have been playing lots of computer games involving cats (BF gave them to me. I love cats a lot and always wanted to have one, but he doesn't, so I try to indoctrinate him with kitty love a bit. )

BBP - 29-6-2024 at 09:31

So yesterday I called the doctor, and by 1 o'clock I got the OK to request the blood test.

Thing is, I couldn't do this on Monday and as they wouldn't work weekends, and by Tuesday the issue might be gone to come back next month in full force (it being cycle related). As it was already midday and I tried to get it done the same day, I checked out the options - the only place where I could get the blood work done within a manageable distance was in Veldhoven, at 45 minutes cycling.

Due to construction works it became an hour, after getting the blood tapped I went to the city center there to browse shops and stuff, and then cycle back.

So I guess I'm not as poor as earlier this week. Hurray!

Plook - 29-6-2024 at 14:31

2 hour round trip on a bike your a stud Bonny, I can barely get to Starbucks and back...

BBP - 2-7-2024 at 07:38

Called the GP yesterday for the better part of my lunch break and prepaid bundle for the results of my blood test (no anemia and no clotting issues), and to make an appointment for further testing (smear, brrr, brrr, brrr) but they couldn't see if there were slots, and I'd have to call back in the morning.

Call back in the morning - no place available. :swear: Appointment for next week due to work.
:swear:

BBP - 7-7-2024 at 10:17

Apparently there were riots in my home town last night after the victory of the Dutch over the Turks.

Don't you just love football?

BBP - 9-7-2024 at 13:33

Doctor's tests went ok, the results will be in in 5 days. I expect them to be negative.

Eddie RUKidding - 9-7-2024 at 23:27

Good to hear Bonny, hope its all good news.

BBP - 11-7-2024 at 19:17

Been a rough week again with the train works making me get up earlier, leave home earlier and spend more time commuting. I don't get enough sleep either, with general stress and my health and DED of course.

Yesterday was a bad day for it. As my team at work discussed the chances of the Dutch team at Euro 2024, I was the only one convinced they were going to lose and I told them "if they win tonight, I'll wear my orange dress tomorrow."

Way from the station became a small disaster when I got in the train in the wrong direction. Which takes half an hour to arrive at the next stop. And then I had to go back. I called my dad to warn him to eat, as I would certainly not make it home in time for dinner. I didn't have any time at the station to grab anything more substantial than a sandwich to eat. Arrived home at 7:36, an hour and a half later than normal.
The sandwich I had on the train couldn't cut it so I got the munchies and baked 2 eggs. One egg had gone off and I got diarrhoea.
Went to bed shortly before the match was over, to a 1-1 tie, and on my way to bed I cut my foot so badly I need to go downstairs again for a bandaid.

Went down, heard Netherlands had lost the game, fixed up foot for the night, went back - and discovered I had to remove several blood stains off the carpet.

Barely slept a wink. I'm ready for this week and need to work one more day.

Eddie RUKidding - 11-7-2024 at 23:32

The Weekend is close your almost there :forumsmiley82:

Plook - 12-7-2024 at 01:15

Bonny the good news is you don't have top wear the Orange dress...

Henry - 12-7-2024 at 12:56

It sounds like you are having a bad time of it just now Bonny.

Sorry about the football the other day.

Other than those involved with the team, the English don't deserve their success. The near universal moaning and complaints and calling for the sacking of the manager throughout the tournament have been way over the top against a fellow who has been our most successful of all time.

Great work with your new album poly. I've sampled it and added it to my long list. Have you thought of offering it for donations only? You might make a bit more that way and certainly would get more listeners and perhaps even develop a small but loyal audience. This is slightly different but I recently heard of a chap in a small English town who decided to promote concerts by progressive jazz groups. He was charging a reasonable £15 admission and got audiences of 20 or so. Then he made them donation only and the place started filling up and takings rose considerably. There were more people coming and whilst they often paid a pittance there would be the odd prosperous person who'd make a substantial contribution.

Anyway, that's just a thought, it might be nonsense.

BBP - 12-7-2024 at 19:53

Yay, weekend! :bouncy:

I've moved on from phone duties to complaints department at work. It's very interesting, and I work with a gaggle of fantastic ladies.

tinkamok - 16-7-2024 at 17:05

We here in England have joined the losers club in the football
The better team won fer sure .

BBP - 16-7-2024 at 17:22

It's another blissfully quiet day off today. I'm still waiting for the test results from my GP, as it's been 5 working days and they said this is how long it would take.

I fully expect them to either show nothing at all, or to have gotten misplaced again.

Plook - 16-7-2024 at 19:20

I'm praying for a good result for you Bonny!

On the humorous side I almost said a "Positive Result" but that wouldn't be good when it comes to medical testing...:duh:

BBP - 16-7-2024 at 21:21

Unless it's a blood type test.

BBP - 20-7-2024 at 10:43

It's a typical Indian summer: cool wet, cool wet, cool wet, bit warmer wet, nicely warm, very warm, hot thunderstorm, cool wet cycles of a week or 2.

Been so busy I hadn't even been able to switch on my computer for days.

Blood test is in, was good. Smear still isn't in.

Plook - 22-7-2024 at 19:15

President Kamala...:bouncing:

BBP - 22-7-2024 at 20:04

I am really really happy now that I'm on complaints.

Because of the Major Power Outage caused by literally 1 incorrect file name in the wrong place, still has its repercussions in he form of hundreds of flight cancellations, causing a lot of financial damage in the travel industry.

Plook - 23-7-2024 at 00:20

You must be very busy.

BBP - 23-7-2024 at 10:01

No not yet, but I will be in a few weeks. The high season for complaints is always a bit later than high season in travel.

BBP - 24-7-2024 at 09:10

Nothing to see on the echo except my age :(

Plook - 25-7-2024 at 01:21

Its good news then...

BBP - 25-7-2024 at 21:18

It's the best result as it's one that doesn't require surgery - but it is the result I was fearing, because it means very early menopause. There are numerous ways to fix the issue of too much blood loss but all of them means there's a big strike through starting a family, and that's a door I didn't want to close.

Smear still isn't in but if that test were positive it would be a disaster, so we're waiting patiently for that and then probably I'll have to swallow it all as inconvenience.

tinkamok - 26-7-2024 at 17:10

Wishing for good news for you Bonny .

Plook - 26-7-2024 at 17:28

Hopefully it will be good news Bonny

I’m sitting here in a motor home in Champsecret in France, in the driveway of my cousin Christine. We’re really enjoying catching up with family and we have been spoilt for three nights in a row at three of my cousins places so far, but we’re all sad too because my aunt, at 81, is dying of lung cancer. We’re glad to have had the opportunity to visit her - luckily it hasn’t affected her mind and we’ve been able to have a good talk and express our feelings.

Back to England on Wednesday to spend more time with daughter, son in law and granddaughter.

The circle of life.

BBP - 28-7-2024 at 21:33

Sorry to hear about your aunt Ploy... <3

I just got back from my BF, which was long overdue, I hadn't seen him since the concert on June 1st. We looked after the home of one of his sisters - the one with 2 bunnies and an aquarium. She surprised us all by telling us they were going to get a kitten.

I had a great weekend in spite of my lady issues, we went for a walk and saw hares, watched videos, played a game and solved a puzzle and did other couple things.

Plook - 28-7-2024 at 23:12

Sorry to hear about your Aunt Poly, but glad to hear your getting to visit with your family that is great.

Eddie RUKidding - 29-7-2024 at 23:45

I'm back in Kingston 2000Km to Brisvegas and 2000Km back towing the caravan with the TATA and the only problem (was a bit of a problem) was too of the 4 new tyres (Tires for Plook) I had fitted to the Tata blew out side walls- one on the way up to Brissy- was fine at Goondiwindi but when got to Caravan park on Bris northside one front tyres had bulge in side wall - so swapped in for spare, then on way back 2nd tyre developed bulge in side wall - not as bad as the first but still there - again at Goondiwindi but the tyres shops there did not have a 16" 4x4 tyre, so had to drive on to Moree where luckily I brought the last 16" 4x4 tyre they had :duh:
Made it the remaining 1500km with out any more trye issues but had to chip ice of the Tata at Tooleybuc, on the morning of the last camping at (it was F...kin cold in Tooleybuc)

PS I finally bought a wammy bar in Brisvegas, for the princely sum of $10(bris has some good guitar shops), for my 1979 Fender Stratocaster- it only taken me 30 years to get around to it. Should good for Joes Garage now :guitar:

BBP - 30-7-2024 at 19:37

Basically all of Europe is melting, pff so hot!

I caved in and bought a summer's dress about a week or two ago, in a bold teal colour I liked. Long but loose fit, so looked ideal to stave off the heat. Turns out that it is not colourfast. Found out when my desk had turned teal by the end of the day.

Whooops.

Oh well. I guess it could be worse. One of my clients accidentally put his initials instead of his first name (made the same mistake on his wife's name) and was stopped at the airport, had to buy different flight tickets. Blew about 5K euros in savings.

He refuses to believe he misspelled his name.

Plook - 31-7-2024 at 00:15

Good to hear you made it back safe Eddie, sounds like an adventure...The only ice we are seeing is from the ice maker it has been triple digits for over a month with maybe 2 or 3 days in the 90's, there is a 360,000 acre fire going just north of here thankfully the airflow is keeping the smoke away.

Bonny try to stay cool in the heat.

Eddie RUKidding - 31-7-2024 at 08:09

Thanks Plook, is foreboding what the summer downunder may bring :wow:

A quick search on line shows there definitely is an "opening" to do a Tooleybuc song :D
the only one I could find is the very sad Tooleybuc-Manangatang Football Club Song below. I'm sure you could get your Manangatang, Tooleybuc'd in a song

Eddie RUKidding - 2-8-2024 at 23:53

BBP - 4-8-2024 at 21:28

Swallowed a mouthful of soapy water when doing the laundry.

Sometimes the water pump in it doesn't work and you have to blow the pipe that drains the water from the washing machine, but as I blew the water came out and hop. YUCK. Gobbled down a box of Norit to keep it together.

Am trying to maintain sanity by watching the Pieterburen Seal Center livestream, which went viral in Japan for some reason. Seals are totally adorable.

Eddie RUKidding - 4-8-2024 at 23:29

Zappa would have written a song about your washing machine - Electric Aunty Speed Queen

Henry - 5-8-2024 at 18:22

But was the water dark? And did it come from Kansas?

BBP - 5-8-2024 at 20:03

Hot soapy water in the first degree.

Eddie RUKidding - 6-8-2024 at 02:19

BBP - 7-8-2024 at 20:57

My latest jam is something trending in Japan - after someone posted on TSNFKAT "Hey, let's all watch this live stream of a Dutch seal centre", I find myself watching seals every day. They're irresistably cute.

Tummy is still rowdy but revocering from the adventures of the past few days.

polydigm - 16-8-2024 at 17:24

Bonny, how’s DED going?

BBP - 16-8-2024 at 20:53

"oh, I'm ok," he says. I should try to get him to chat here sometime.

His oedema wouldn't go away even after the knee surgery, so his legs were first taped in (which was a tale and a half because it took him 6 weeks to find a party that would do it) and now he has compression stockings.Summer's been a cycle of about 10 days starting with 2 days of humid heat, then thunder storm and cool down, then rainy weather, then nice day then back at the humid heat. We are currently in the "rain" phase.

Aside from the works we had several weeks ago the trains are generally running ok, but today had to take the bus instead, which was exhausting.

One of my favourite faits divers items of late evolves around one of my kryptonites: young harbour seals, which get me whimpering in cute overload mode for hours. The Dutch baby seal hospital Seal Center Pieterburen has gone viral in Japan and has now got an enormous momentum in the far East.

Plook - 1-9-2024 at 13:58

Chic's best song by far for me is Good Times often played at the disco's in the late 70's and early 80's impressively long coming in at over 8 minutes with no deeper meaning other than you can dance to it and you should be having a Good Time well doing so...

Vurrently at BFs. I took half a dayś leave dso we could dine together - and on my half day at work I was asked if I like to go on a study trip to Prague starting Monday.

If it woks out Iĺl get into a sleeper train this evening and I will be back Wednesday morning.

If that wasnt enough I had a great time at my BFs, visiting the WorldFamousInJapan Seal Center in Pieterburen where we saw a lot of very cute young harbour seals. Afterwards we went to a small zoo where I got a lovely Chilean tarantula on my hand. It was warm and fuzzy.

So, hereś hoping Prague works out.

Eddie RUKidding - 10-9-2024 at 01:36

Hope so too Bonny

polydigm - 10-9-2024 at 23:21

Hey Bonny, hopefully you're in Prague right now, resting after spending an enjoyable day there.

BBP - 11-9-2024 at 14:32

hahaha by the time you posted that I was already in Germany.

This was a "study trip". These are often organized by companies in the hospitality industry. In this case it was a train with nought but sleeper cars. I shared mine with two female travel agents, both about my age.
"They may call them "sleeper cars", but a more proper term would be "noisy prison simulation guaranteed to keep you awake."
I spent 13 hours getting to Prague, either chatting to the other ladies in the group or tossing in the bed. Biggest moment of excitement was when the fire alarm went off - one of the girls on the train had used deodorant, causing the alarm to activate.

The sleeping car is most definitely not my thing. The movement of the car make me nauseous and wake me up if we go through a rough section, plus there was this nasty ticking sound, like there was a woodpecker in the couchette with us.
https://www.europeansleeper.eu/the-train
I had a fold-out prison-bench type on the top as it's supposed to be roomier, but i couldn't even sit straight, let alone change in there. For the return I decided to go on the middle one and fold up the top one.
The beds were very tiny - with my 1,75m I couldn't lie straight in it - narrow and with just a sheet and a fleece blanket provided.I used to think I could sleep anywhere

We were only scheduled to have 7 hours in Prague, but that quickly turned into 5 hours when the train got delayed. In those five hours we had a good lunch with typically Czech dishes, we rushed past several sights, were briefly showed around the theatre, were taken to the astronomical clock and then the Charles Bridge, and from there we basically were supposed to make our way back to the train.

Way back went without delay. Halfway through the night which was spent awake and sea-sick, tossing and getting annoyed with the tapping sound, I finally found the source of the noise: the folding beds are heavy, but are held up with just one hook on the side, so the other one starts flipping around. By lowering the bed I may have had to sacrifice my overhead space, but lo and behold, the woodpecker flew and I could actually get one or two hours of sleep.

Due to the train strike, there were no trains from the Dutch railwais for a few hours. Which meant that my original plan of getting out at Amersfoort at 5:30 which would have gotten me home by 7AM couldn't happen as no trains were going until 8AM and after that I'd have to wait for the peak hours to end. Rather than waiting for hours in a drafty dark station in Amersfoort, I had to travel to one of the last stops in Roosendaal which is about the same distance away and would give me one hour to kill there. Got me home by 11:15.

Five hours in Prague, 30 hours in the train, hardly any sleep... I'm presently a bit of a zombie.

I gave him an update on a few things and said I would let you all know his idea, if any one is interested I will let him know.

Bonny he has never joined your site should I tell him to contact you?

Flat tire epidemic here.

Sometimes the broom cars come by with rotating steel brushes to clean the street, but unfortunately they "forget" to ride behind them with a vacuum car, so the stray steel bristles are left on the cycle path, ready to cause mayhem. I have endured 4 punctures in 3 different bicycles in 3 days.

Today I got a puncture halfway home, when it was pouring with rain. As feather in my cap, the puncture was not the leak I had fixed just the day before, but a new one. So I can fix them all-right. Yay.

As another feather in my cap, I write this from my Windows 7 laptop, which was my daily jam up and until my employment with Belvilla ended.

Sooo, here it is! A post made in Internet Explorer 11!
