In the Grand Clear-up, I took a huge bag with a large toy crane and a ton of cheapo musical instruments (the bulk of which purchased at flea markets and alike) to the second-hand store. The one that is a good 8km away as I hadn't been there a while. The cycling was hard on me, I was pretty out of breath when I arrived, which I thought was strange. Handed in my stuff, found nothing of interest there, went to the next 3 shops where I found nothing, went to the fourth, found somehting but discovered I had of course forgotten my wallet.

Upon going back home I noticed my rear bicycle wheel was running against the frame - in fact the rear wheel was wobbly. So I decided to walk all the way home.

Turns out the axis is bent. I'm absolutely pooped.

Had a client claiming expenses because there were bed bugs at the hotel he visited, which he thinks is a good reason to break out his lawyer and claim receipts for clothes, an excessive amount of sunglasses, multiple cellphones, and his kitchen.

Of course such a blatant attempt at fraud goes through both our and the tour operator's company. Guy is unemployed and I can tell you how big the odds are he gets a job at any company that finds out he's trying this.

I couldn't be happier with the emergency phone being out of shot for months. It pays next to nothing - between 28 and 35 euros per night - but your sleep suffers just because of the thought you may be called.

By now I can laugh at that lady with the 10-year-old without passport going to Egypt, especially when I suggested she should go to the civilian police at a nearby Dutch airport for an emergency passport. "But I'm in Germany now. Can't I get a German passport for my kid?"

Emergency phone rang while I was on the train, struggling to find a quiet place to be able to speak with the caller. She phoned because one of the members of her travelling group had passed away. Was a shock.

Cycled home and found that Dweezil is performing my home town for the Bridge guitar festival in a few months. With the Metropole orchestra. Plus side - he will be playing FZ with them. Minus side - he will be playing his own music. If I hear Love Ride I'll finish the night traumatised in the fetal position.

I doubt I'll be going. Plus he has competition in Adrian Belew, who will be playing Talking Heads music at the same festival.

Today was a crap day for it - went home from work with one of my colleagues, Donny (we're a sitcom waiting to happen). We went to the station and checked in. The station is ex-tre-me-ly busy now that it's Carnaval, which is celebrated very big in my neck of the woods. So busy that they resorted to installing gates for crowd control.

So there you are, waiting in line and squeezing by an checking in, up the stairs to the train - which didn't go. There was a collision with a person (unsure whether suicide or a Carnaval-related mishap) which meant no trains for hours in my direction, they would stop halfway at a small town. We were assured there would be buses going to Eindhoven from there, so we got on the slow train, where I discovered I forgot my bag with crochet work.

Upon arriving in Boxtel there were no trains or buses, so we were basically stuck somewhere halfway. Now Boxtel also does carnaval but it doesn't get as extremely busy as 's-Hertogenbosch with partygoers, so we went to find a supermarket to get some food for the night.

And there I discovered my bank card was no longer in my wallet.

After walking back, I spent some time searching for my card with no success at the station (as the checking gates are at the bottom of long stairs I walked up quite a few flights for it) but no luck.
When we returned to the station bridge, we found one of my colleagues, also stranded. He has the taxi app and with there being three of us, we could split the taxi three-way.

Got home about an hour earlier than I would have been had I waited for the trains to go. Miffed and exhausted.

Trump’s shenanigans have screwed the Australian dollar. Australia is more tied to the US and the UK more to Europe so AUD has crashed relative to GBP, which is kicking us in the teeth financially in our move here. Haven’t been able to check the damage to our Aussie super yet.

Aside from some global political idiot, one of the things that is getting me down has been the latest newsflash from Ninezyme entertainment.

Quickly summarised: I love the games from 80s and 90s adventure game company Sierra, like Leisure Suit Larry and Gabriel Knight. Back in 2012 a lot of these game creators from Way Back Then commenced Kickstarter campaigns to start making new games in the same spirit.
Leisure Suit Larry, the only one I got to back, fared OK in the sense that the kickstarted game, a remake of Leisure Suit Larry, was made. However the animations were poor and unfortunately one of the game producers was such an SOB that the creator, Al Lowe, decided to take his hands off the company.
Gabriel Knight, my favourite as it has a superb writing quality like a book you can't put down - creator Jane Jensen created a small game-creating start-up. I gave 5 euros from my Paypal account or something, not much. Her indie studio produced a Gabriel Knight 1 remake and a new game, Moebius. Moebius was not critiqued very well and the sales og GK1 remake were down, so Pinkerton Road decided to close the studios and Jensen is back writing novels for her niche market.
Space Quest: sci fi is not my thing but I played a few, that game is still in production 13 years later.
King's Quest: a new game was released in chapters but that was where the well ran dry.
Quest for Glory: never played those, also yielded one game but nothing much beyond that.

Then there's Laura Bow - that was in production by Ninezyme Entertainment for literally years. They were already having well-rounded art and animation by 2019. In order to gain funds for their small company, they started a side project called Tile Tales.

Now Tile Tales is not doing very well in sales, not making a profit, and this is putting the development of a potential new Laura Bow game in danger.

Thing is - recently I played Moebius. It may have graphical issues but it was still a pretty amazing game. It saddens me that games like these, good adventures with decent puzzles just won't get made anymore.

I bought Tile Tales (2 copies to support the company) and am having fun with it. It's a bit of a game like Spider or Ants where your character is following the path on tiles and you have to guide him to an end target. The way the game is playing out is a lot of the levels have an additional challenges of which you need to figure out how to solve them. And if you solved it you can work on finding the shortest path.

They Bonsaied (2) 25 foot tall pine trees, trimmed (2) 15 foot tall Camphor trees, took old fronds of a 20 foot tall palm tree, cut down (3) trees 10 foot tall in one neighbors yard, and (2) trees in another neighbors yard. The trees in the neighbors yards were causing me a lot of heart burn with the swimming pool so I am a happy guy...:bouncing::bouncy::roll:
