I dig Aynsley's playing a lot, especially on the Waka and Wazoo albums. I do realize that he doesn't have monster chops like most of the other FZ
drummers, but I really like his 'feel' and timing. Dig that drum break in "Waka/Jawaka" where it almost sounds like he's stumbling over the kit, but
in a good way.
FZ did praise him in interviews a lot, even years after he left the band.
Hey kids! Do you hear that sound? . . . Freaks will be coming from miles around!

Terry! He was great with Solodrums in Concert in 2003... if I hadn't seen him dropping his stick I'd never noticed. And the way he dealt with an
annoying Zappa-fan who kept on yelling for Black Page, saying sotto voce "OK if you'll SHUT UP!", which earned him a major ovation from the crowd.

I'm just imagining him saying that in his particular voice and i'm laughing because of it.

I've seen Calhoun with Pharoah Sanders last year, the guy can definitely play bebop as well.
The current drummer in the Wayne Shorter quartet, Brian Blade, is also a great player.

My choice would be Vinnie Colaiuta - closely followed by that groovy fella Aynsley Dunbar.

Yeah. After watching Baby Snakes again the other day, Terry was just so perfect for Frank in a lot of ways. He could do anything.

Nice. How crazy is his set-up!!! But it's all there for a reason.
Did you like the show? Could you stay interested listening to solo drums for a whole show? If so, great.

Terry was just fantastic... blew my mind, really. Ufuk was terrific, and the Black Page was great.
