King Radio

On march 24, 2007 Dutch Reel to reel lovers meet each other for the 5th time in a 6 month cycle.
The meeting is a combined session of little repairs by "experts".
listening sessions of the best (restored) decks. Exibition of rare decks and anything. On March 24, 1965 King Radio started to transmit from UK om the medium wave. I am now looking for advertorials, jingles and so on. the radio station was not a great succes and only was on air between march and septembre. I cannot find much at this moment. Someone an Idea?

maybe I'm confused. This radio that has been broadcasting since 1965 is having trouble filling time? Or can they only afford to stay open with operating costs (?) for six months a year? Am I close? Do they only use reel to reel? I feel like I'm missing something?

like this Ded?

"Capital Radio (One/Two)
The Clash (Strummer/Jones)

YES, IT'S TIME FOR THE DR. GOEBBELS
SHOW!

THERE'S A TOWER IN THE HEART OF LONDON
WITH A RADIO STATION RIGHT AT THE TOP
THEY DON'T MAKE THE CITY BEAT
THEY'RE MAKING ALL THE ACTION STOP

A LONG TIME AGO THERE WERE PIRATES
BEAMING WAVES FROM THE SEA
BUT NOW ALL THE STATIONS ARE SILENCED
'COS THEY AIN'T GOT A GOVERNMENT LICENSE

WANNA TELL YOUR PROBLEMS
PHONE IN FROM YOUR BEDSIT ROOM
HAVING TROUBLE WITH YOUR PARTNER
LET US ALL IN ON THE NEWS

IF YOU WANNA HEAR A RECORD
GET THE WORD FROM <substitute own name here> AIDEN DAY/Day To DAY
HE PICKS ALL THE HITS TO PLAY
TO KEEP YOU IN YOUR PLACE ALL DAY
Capitol Radio, Capitol Radio . . .
Hey guys, you know what?
'What?'
I been lookin at the charts
using my mind and my imagination
and i can see it all now.
The drummer's in the box office
and he's countin all the MONEY!
Hey you guys know JUST WHAT to do!
Capital Radio, Capital Radio . . .
CAPITAL RADIO
IN TUNE WITH NOTHING
DON'T TOUCH THAT DIAL"

hahahhahahhaa, one of my favorite songs

There you got a point, I think it must be illegal
Veronica and TROS in the Netherlands are legalised versions of
Radio Veronica (see http://www.norderney.nl) and REM (First commercial TV pirate in Holland)
