It's the official live debut of what many music fans suspect could be the most exciting power trio in years-- Keneally • Minnemann • Beller.

What if the word "supergroup" wasn't defined by the fame and egos of its members, but by the quality of the music they make? While Mike Keneally, Marco Minnemann and Bryan Beller dare to redefine that misused cliché, they're also happily retooling the expectations of their audience.

Mike Keneally (guitar, keyboard, vocals), Marco Minnemann (drums) and Bryan Beller (bass) may not be household names, but they need no introduction among the tens of thousands who relish intense, exploratory live performances and musicianship so advanced it that seems somehow irrelevant in the face of their near-telepathic cohesion.

Tell me when they're coming to Australia, even though I live in Austria. I love Marco Minnemann. I saw him perform at the Drummer's Weekend in Melbourne a few years ago and part of his performance was to play the 'What did the Romans ever do for us?' scene from The Life of Brian.

There's this Duckula episode where they're teleporting with that castle. The castle is hard of hearing, so when Duckula commands it to go to Austria, it flies to Australia instead. With matching British-imitating-Aussie-accent. "Get out of my wallaby-patch!"

Thanks so much Bonny! It was hilarious. My favourite bit was when Nannie answers the door saying "It's no bother...oh bother." And then Bill Platypus' face when he sees Nannie. Priceless. They actually included a few authentic lines of Australiana:

1. "You're not wrong there." (You're right.)

2. "Come off it mate." (Stop fucking around.)

I didn't even understand most of the Aussie tongue... have that with a lot of Duckula somehow. It goes so fast!

You mean you couldn't make out the words?

Yup! A lot of Duckula characters have strange accents. Nannie of course, but she's understandable (that is, if she makes sense). Igor's a bit tougher, and Von Goosewing, the French villains and the raven burglars all seem to be drunk.

(still it's better to understand than good old Donald...)

What's the deal with that German Sherlock Holmes type character who pops up every now and again. Is that Von Goosewing?

Yes! He's convinced Duckula is evil and needs to be destroyed. He usually walks around with a cartoon gun with a wooden stake in it, and has an assistant named Heinrich who appears to be imaginary (he's never seen) and vG always blames him if anything goes wrong.

An imaginary assistant- brilliant. I watched the first two thirds of an episode with a very funny and long title where a bunch of monsters come to life and Duckula's many enemies all decide to visit him at the same time including an alien who turns into a cabbage.

YES! I loved that episode! I'm looking up the title now... it always appears abbreviated...

Ok, watched it again, on VHS. It's called:
The Return of the Curse of the Secret of the Mummy's Tomb meets Frankenduckula's Monster and the Wolfman and the Intergalactic Cabbage......
