BB-Art (Critics Wanted!)

So here is my most recent art project.
Before I make a nice definite version of it, I'm still experimenting with facial expressions and material. These two were made with pastel, except for the facial details, which were done by pencil.

This is the first one. It looks a little too "happy", both the facial expression and the colours.

To tone down the happiness, I used grey background paper. I still haven't found a proper facial expression. This one is based on an "angry" Donald as drawn by Carl Barks, but with different eyebrows and the pupils in the centre of the eyes.

I think you need to have the bill much wider open, but I can see the difficulty is that the upper bill would obscure the eyes. The original however is quite abstract so maybe you could get away with a much wider open bill, (I mean so wide you can't see the top side of the upper bill but it's under side in stead and you could have his little tongue flailing out) and distort the face in a way you can still see the eyes. Maybe a slight tilt of the head to one side to give a better view of the eyes. This is horror you want to portray here.

Poly has right but I don't like big bills around here :-)
May you can bend it as in the original painting
