Article Discussion

I don't want to clog up Bonny's article translations, so I thought a separate thread to discuss them might be useful.

Mr FZ, better known as the father of MOI, has an argument with record company MGM. The company recently released a double album by the Mothers that many fans may be happy with, but not Zappa. He had condemned the songs for the record. He also felt that they don't fit in the musical image of the group anymore. An official "white" album {illegal, like black market: since LPs are black
the adjective is white} The case has been taken to court.

So what's this about?

Thank you! I forgot to lock.
Also there's no new translations for today: was quite busy.

What exactly this refers to, I'm not 100% sure. There have been several Mothers compilations back in the day: in the Provinciale Zeeuwse Courant there's even talk of a Mother's Day themed Mothers box with pink bows. If I was Zappa I'd complain about that.

The MGM comp The ***** of the Mothers was released in europe in mid 1970, had a gatefold sleeve but only one record. Looks like a double, with only one disc. I know of no double disc mothers comp from MGM. Frank didn't like it. He was already on to other things.

DED, it would have to predate the fillmore stuff, because MGM wouldn't have any of those tapes, Zappa had already left them by that stage. That's the really annoying thing with the MGM compilations, that they only had a handful of albums to use for compilations and made so many of them. It's one of the craziest things I've seen done by a record company.

Ed, your link to the patio - the 'official bootleg' and the 2nd record of just another band from LA info -
eventually led me to these, which say they are part of a rare acetate of Carnegie Hall 11oct71
great instrumentals!

Punky: you'd better read Electric Don Quixote again, the original text is there.

"They're not going there to protect democracy, because Kuwait is not a democracy and neither is Saudi-Arabia. Both of these countries have very, very strict regimes, and to listen to speeches giving any other reason for this force in the Gulf other than protecting US oil interests is totally fake.

and this is stuff that's supposed to be on the new release this month...
how do I do it?
:forumsmiley280:
I guessed we would get a grand wazoo concert in the beginning of 2007 and wrote it down somewhere and then it happened. Of course, I blame myself. Wouldn't you? :bouncing:

Maybe it all has to do with "user requirement specifications"and is the trust reading and spelling our site in order to compile the contents of the new releases.

Power to the Punk, that is......
