Missing a loved one...
Unfortunately, my wonderful grandmother has just passed away, aged 86. It will be a while before DED and I may be posting again.

Yes, in a few ours we go to her house, after that we go to the hospital arranging everything.
Meeting the rest of the familiy and so on.
we will be a little quit on this forum foor the next days, I hope you can understand. We know she is 84 and it could happen every day but it is always
suddenly. and as BBP already stated it was a hell of a woman.
Why is the world so changing rapidly. On my first computer I saw A: after starting it up with a 160k single side single density floppy.

My wonderful grandmother passed away of the complications of lung emphysema last Thursday, aged 86. She was a spectacular lady, bright, funny, caring
and loving, and she will be sorely missed by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.
At around 2 o'clock today, the family drove in a series of cars behind the hearse, in a mourning procession.
It is illegal to interrupt such a procession. Not to mention really a-social.
And it happened. Twice. The first time by a cyclist, between the first and second followers, he probably wasn't paying attention; but the second
time by a group of youngsters who drove directly behind the hearse and made rude gestures at grandma's coffin.
After the service there was a meeting at Grandmother's house. I had spent the past few days there with my father (and for three days with my
sister too), to soak up Granny's athmosphere for the last time. The meeting became painful for reasons beyond my control which I had nothing to
do with and which I won't describe here, so I left early, on a long, long train trip home.
During this train trip, I got to send in the past few days, let them sink into my memory. It was very painful, and I broke into tears a few times.
One time, I heard laughing. Some asshole was laughing at me. I told him crying that I had just buried my grandmother and he started talking to me,
making terrible remarks that I don't want to recall right now. In half a minute I was so upset that I grabbed my enormous suitcase and walked
away, as far as I could at the time.

Bonny: don't worry about these things. The world may be full of assholes and idiots, but they're not the ones who run things. They're
too stupid. The world belongs to the people who can see the bigger picture: people like you.
There's nothing you can do to stop the idiocy in the world. But there's nothing it can do to stop you...

Sorry to hear about your loss Bonny. I missed all this as I was recovering from surgery and in a bit of a fentanyl haze while all the above was
happening. My condolences.

Thank you very much for your sympathy, Poly.
Dad is in The Hague now, doing his part of clearing the house. He wanted to rent a van for the occasion, but the rental company needs his drivers
license, and it turns out he left his home.
So I'll be off to The Hague tomorrow, directly after my newspaper round, to bring him his bag.

We moved Gran's stuff out, well, quite a bit of it anyway. Our living room is now filled with 5 extra chairs, 3 extra tables, 2 closets in bits
and another closet and Gran's dining room table and 7 boxes and a box with porcelain etc.

Will be a hard job to get everything in place. But in the end we will succeed.
