As I said, I made the mistake of watching the movies first, so my brain was tainted with the images of the actors already whilst reading...always
better to do it the other way round....

He's recently sold a children's book to DISNEY!
It's about a brother and a sister who rescue their father from a monster. There's a thread about it on the Zappa-forum, on the TV/Film section I
think.

Wait! It was in What's Zappaning? In it, I dissed Disney for claiming quality whilst producing drool.
Either way, I did sense some analogy between this book (about a boy and a girl who discover they come out of a family of monster hunters, and set out
to fight a monster) and a certain book series about a boy who finds out he comes from a family of wizards, and sets out to be a wizard (=Harry
Potter).

Finnegans Wake is nice.
I've purchased Tolkien's The Silmarillion, which I plan to read once I finally get through LOTR (I'm half-way through ROTK).

Silmarillion is supposed to be good......Well, BB, I tried starting Finnegans last night, and to be honest with you I found it very difficult! I mean,
didnt you struggle? Ill have to give it another go, but jesus, its heavy!!! Nearly finished Catcher In The Rye though, which is wonderful......It
really is....
Re what I just posted, Catcher is good, but not great...Its supposed to be this literary classic, which is why I was interested to read it, but all of
a sudden it just ends......Nothing THAT good at all......Had its moments, just when you thought something was going to happen, it didnt...Wierd....

Yeah... But I guess I'm used to something after all that Dostoevski I've been through. Though LOTR has taken me ages... but I'm nearly there. Funny
how the books that have taken me most trouble to read have all ended up in my favourites-list.

No, I've started on a book by Bordewijk that has been on my shelf for ages. It's a collection of stories, all take place in The Hague.
It's not a big book, hope to finish it soon.
