BCNR is a young british band founded in 2018 with an interesting blend of styles. Sadly their lead singer Isaac Wood left after the release of their second album (due to psychic problems). He brought in an element of serious weirdness and hysteria. After his departure the ladies in the band took over and the style shifted heavily towards folk music. These are two vids of each incarnation of the band:
Black Country, New Road - 'Live from the Queen Elizabeth Hall'
Black Country,New Road - 'Forever Howlong' full album live at Village Underground, London,15/04/2025

interesting

I'm still listening to old stuff that should have made more of an impact back in the day from OZ
PS was on the UK Vertigo label in 1972, now is the rarest OZ record and most expensive of the era to find ( I have not got one)
Buffalo

Wow, these guys can really rock! Your playlist lead me further to those vids:
Buffalo Live GTK - Sydney 1974 (Full Concert) Spoiler alert: full concert in those days meant a total duration of 22 mins, poor quality.
Ranking the Studio Albums: Buffalo As far as you can live without owning the original vinyl, CD-version exists.

Thanks Ursinator- I'm still searching for a vinyl- ps Buffalo eventually turned into Rose Tattoo - sort of, the bass player from Buffalo formed them- shame the Buffalo guitarist (who I think is still around) didn't get more recognition- I think their firs LP was there best, followed by the 2nd- both of these are on my wanted list lol

check this out new guitarist but still wow

Got the suggestion to listen to this from a guy at work today (who is also a massive FZ-fan) and immediately liked it. Heavily Zappa and (much more obvious) Beefheart influenced - wouldn't wonder if Eddie already knew about : Zoogz Rift @ Mr T's Bowl 9/4/1999 (Full Show).

And some more noodle dishes:
Rudder ( Henry Hey, Tim Lefebvre, Keith Carlock, Chris Cheek ) - Live Rockwood Music Hall NYC.
The Dave Pike Set feat. Volker Kriegel 1969. Contains a nice rendition of mother people at 15:30.

Young Munich-based band that could be interesting for Zappa fans - at least they managed to please the Zappanale crowd ;-)

Just saw them at Zappanale #34. Personally, if I had a band with that many players, I'd do a lot more with it. It feels to me as though she likes the idea of being a band leader, but hasn't really got enough of a vision to be one - she could easily get by with a much smaller band. All those resources going to waste just breaks my heart.
