Actually I'm glad Beckham is out. I can't stand him.

Germany's out, pity. Now it'll be Italy in the finale.

Italy v. France.

I'm going for France only because i (and every non-Italian Australian in the world) would love to see Italy lose. The more heart breaking the better.

I'd love to see Italy lose. Any match with Italy is a drag to watch, the way they block up the goal. Besides they beat Netherlands on penalties in the EC 2000 semi-final in The Netherlands after a 0-0 match (and NL was awarded 2 penalties during the game).

Speaking of France, who's watching the Tour? Not a big fan of cycling, but took my sister to Valkenburg last Tuesday, to watch the arrival of the cyclists. We found a spot some 50 metres from the finish, at the top of the Cauberg (which was quite a climb at 30+ degrees Celsius). We waited there, in the sun, for 4 and a half hours to watch the cyclists race past in a few seconds.

Well, I'm half French so I hope they win, and even if I had no interest in France, after the way in which Italy beat Australia, I would still be going for France. My family will be getting up at 4:00AM to watch the final.

No no no no you all MUST wish Italy to win, when everybody wanted Spain to win, we won, when everybody wanted Brazil to win, we won, when most poeple wanted Potugal to win, we won (though it was a bit more difficult), so keep on supporting the opposite team, please.:D

aqua, i saw on a documentary about France's last World Cup win a couple of weeks ago. There was footage of a hundred thousand or so people in Paris partying in the streets at night next to a building that had a gigantic electronic image of ZZ with ZIDANE written in huge letters underneath it. It must have been a great moment. It reminded me of that scene in Citizen Kane.

I can sort of understand the mystique and legend of Le Tour but road cycling must be the most boring sport in the world to watch on TV. My grandpa watches it for the scenery in the background.

I can't stand Le tour de France, it's boring to me. Hours and hours of guys on their bicycle, well... not for me.

Yeah, I remember that. It will happen again if we win.

Agree! Cycling's boring! Unless somebody falls over.

Most entertaining of the whole tour experience in Valkenburg was the advertising entourage, and a guy who did stunts with his bicycle. The promotional campaigns were handing out lotsa stuff. We got a lot of Le Credit Lyonnais caps, some caps from a television channel, caps from Skoda, La Vache Qui Rit fridge magnets, and price cut coupons for Ristorante pizzas which can only be used in French supermarkets. There was a lot of ads for stuff which very few people in the audience would be able to use, or understand since most of it was in French anyway.

Good to hear you're OK...
Been to the local junk store, where they were selling out on all kinds of orange muck. 12 cans of Bavaria beer + Leeuwenhose at E 4,99!

None... didn't want to buy 12 beers... Was contemplating on purchasing a capone-style orange hat at 0,89 E...
