The Blues Brothers!

my all time favourite movie! So many great lines, great music, great players, great guests (James Brown, Chaka Kahn, Cab Calloway, John Lee Hooker, Aretha etc.), great car chases, and done a little tongue-in-cheek.;-)

I love this movie as well. My favorite scene is probably the one where they're playing in some redneck bar behind chicken fence. "We've got both kinds of music..." :-D Much to enjoy there.

I didn't like the sequel at all, though. (Blues Brothers 2000).

Hey kids! Do you hear that sound? . . . Freaks will be coming from miles around!

Never really into this movie Im afraid....made even more grating by those awful tribute bands.....Apart from a few good car chase scenes, its pretty dull IMO....

Didn't like it too much... them car crashes are even more past the believability state than a heavily pregnant woman wearing a "Trust me, I'm a virgin" tee.

Plus I've seen too much of Dan Aykroyd.

I think it's a good movie...I only got into it about 5 years ago

I tend to avoid movies that are hyped when they come out....like Star Wars
But it's good to enjoy them when the hype dies down

I only just got into Forrest Gump..heh

I like how the Blues Brothers incorporated real music legends in a seamless fashion...I like the music shop scene....and Aretha in the kitchen

Good to see Steve Cropper still doin' it, too

Luckily, I missed a lot of the 80's stuff 'cos I went bush to teach myself ragtime fingerpicking guitar

I think I avoided a lot of bad 80's music with that ploy

Two players from the BB played with Frank. Tom Malone (Tom "Bones" Malone), and the alto sax player Lou Marini ("Blue" Lou) both played with Frank. TM in 1972, and also the SNL episodes; and LM on both SNL's and around that time.

Tom Malone is still the trombonist in the Letterman Show band, who completely kick ass.

"The Blues Brothers" is worth it just to see Cab Calloway do "Minnie The Moocher."

That's based on a real event, where a bunch of neo-Nazis planned a march in Skokie Illinios (a predominantly Jewish suburb of Chicago). These scumbags had obviously chosen Skokie because a number of Holocaust survivors lived there.

I don't remember if the march ever actually happened, but it was one of those cases where people were testing the limits of freedom of speech.

Anybody seen the Blues Brothers 2000? I was watching/listening (mostly listening) to it one day, and most of the actual non-musical parts suck, but they put together a hell of an all star band near the end of the movie.

Hi there.
