Hey guys!
Finally we managed to get an interview on-line, so we have one less error message on the site. Check it out!

Interesting stuff, I thought it would talk more about music, but cool anyway.

I loved this bit:
MICHAEL:
Have you ever thought of creating a digital library available on computer discs? It would be nice to have the entire lyrics of your songs and the
background material that comes with them as a data base. That could be very useful for German listeners, in case they don't know the meaning of
certain words or phrases that you use, or create, i.e. neologisms.
FRANK:
That would be a huge database. You know how hard it would be to take all the songs in my catalogue and provide the information that a non-American
would need to have in order to understand the words. That would be an enormous data base. For example, the first time we played in England, and I had
to do an interview with somebody when the album "Absolutely Free" was out . There's a song on it called "I'm losing status in the high school", and a
line in the song says, " a bunch of pompom girls look down their nose at me". Well, nobody in England knew what a 'pompon girl' was; they don't have
cheerleaders there, see, and so I was confronted with the fact that it never occured to me that outside the US they don’t even have cheerleaders. So
how do you explain what a cheerleader is to a person who is so sophisticated that their society is evolved to the point where they don't need them. -
So there's a lot of stuff in the songs about the way things are here , and unless somebody has come here and looked at it like you guys have, it
doesn't make any sense at all.

mars or some where_!!! i think may have been a slight exageration by zappa (i.m.o)

Maybe... It' a thing I only know from movies, and I don't watch too many of those, but it's hard to believe it's a big thing. It seems like girls join
the cheerleaders just to get popular. We didn't really have an institute like that at school. Except maybe the bee-club which had produced its 2000th
jar of honey when I was a fifth-grader.

The cheerleaders went out with the quarterbacks. Who did the
bee-clubbers go out with?

anything.

Bee clubbers? I think they dated the regional-historyclubbers.
Other interesting clubs at my school were the Magic Club (the card game), and the spider club (where people played with tarantulas).

Dinner with the couples belonging collectively to the regional bee
history club must have been a riot!
We only had unofficial clubs at my school. One was all the coindexters who played with Pokemon cards every single lunchtime for about 5 years. They
made me think the Pokemon craze would never end!

modern day basketball cheerleaders. I included this one as some Americans would say they are desecrating the US flag . . .
on topic, many famous americans have played sports in college. What did George W Bush do? He was a cheerleader at Yale.
