I know what you mean, "grates" is the perfect word! "Hall Of The Mountain Grill" is a good album though, as it tends to leave all hippy trippy shit at
home, and is quite rock based.....

My brother's a Hawkwind nut, but most of it bogs me up the wall backwards
I don't mind 'Astounding Sounds' and a bit of 'Hawklords', but most of their stuff is jammy rubbish
I wouldn't put Gong in the same class, though
Some of their stuff is a bit more structured...with some half-decent solos and a bit of humour

Grant Green - Solid.
Actually, I'm transcribing some of his solos on this record. He's one of the easier jazz guitarists to copy and steal licks from.
Hey kids! Do you hear that sound? . . . Freaks will be coming from miles around!

My Dad's band played with Hawkwind at a bike thing and he said that they were shit compared to what they used to be like.

Yeah, they really should have given up years ago......Think they spilt, then reformed, then split....wouldnt surprise me if they were still going,
albeit in a lesser form ( ie Dave Brock the only original member )....

I'm pretty sure they're still around in one form or another, they were on the bill of a stonerrock festival here last year.
Hey kids! Do you hear that sound? . . . Freaks will be coming from miles around!

Cannonball Adderley - Fiddler on the Roof
I really don't like musicals at all, but this album is great.

From radical Jewish culture to neo fascist post industrial in the sapce of two albums....pretty fucking good going....
Bar Kokhba Sextet : 50th Birthday Celebration Volume Eleven
Bar Kokhba brings together six core members of the Masada family in a dynamic and versatile ensemble of strings and percussion. All the players were
at their best on these nights. At times lush and lyrical, at times driving and powerful, but always filled with the intoxicating joy of music making,
this long awaited release is a real treasure. Featuring one set from each of their three nights, the band begins relaxed and laid back and slowly
builds to an intense unstoppable powerhouse. This is a rare chance to hear how the band grows over the course of an engagement—a special 3CD package
containing some of Zorn’s most beautiful and exhilarating music. Sephardic exotica for young moderns.
...followed by....
Von Thronstahl - Bellum, Sacrum Bellum

Man, I need to get that Bar Kokhba disc as well, I love the other "Bar Kokhba" album. I only have the Electric Masada disc from the 50th birthday
series.

Kurt Weill - Dreigroschenoper
Conducted by HK Gruber, performed by Ensemble Moderne
with Nina Hagen as an excellent Frau Peachum!
