Good 'un!

Still keeping absolute Zappa silence and find myself switching between Peter Maxwell Davies' Resurrection, Dir En Grey and the new Caro Emerald. Yesterday I decided to look out for Habanera recordings. FZ infamously made me cross by recording it without the prominent triplets in the melody line, taking all the sex out. Dweezil made me even crosser by recording it without the prominent triplets with an ear-piercing sound, destroying the luscious yet simple melody all the while nagging about "composer's intent".
Discovered that one of the main versions I'd often play, is actually very horrible with scratchy triangles and screeching violins.

was watching Mike Keneally and the Metropole Orchestra when I saw a link to Todd Rundgren concert with the Motropole.

Wow! The first two songs are incredible. Then it goes into Todd's more vocal stuff but just goes to show you how cultured he is. The guy can really rock a show tune! I am glad I was exposed to musicals as a kid thanks to my Mom.

I also really like this on piano, ringo song Poltergeist, played beautifully by some lady that does jazz standards in her home: she must be a music teacher
