Aqua, that's the coolest avatar i've seen in a while. The amazing thing about Animal is that the puppet is actually playing the right stuff exactly in sync with the audio! Unbelievable! HOw the fuck did they do that?

Have you seen the drum battle between Animal and Buddy Rich?

What do you think of it? Frank's doo wop mode is one of my favourites out of all his modes, but i can't love this album. The cd drum tracks are just ridiculous and it just sounds cold and wrong. What the hell was Chad (and Frank) thinking?

Stuff up the cracks is wonderful though.

yep. that's my fave there too.
I came to appreciate it a lot more this summer tho, strangely while listening to these tapes:

22dec66, interview w Don Paulsen,
10nov68 and 27nov68, FM radio shows where frank talks with the dj and they play records. Lotta doo-wop and rare '50's r-n-b ! Hotcha!
I put these in a big playlist with the Joe's Corsage, Joe's Xmasage, Lost Episodes, Mystery disc and Cruisin. On random it's a real treat.

but my favorite zappa doo-wop?
Valarie, without a doubt. Couldn't tell ya why I love it either. I just really do. The version on the Ark, jul69 is the one I like the best, of what I've heard.

yeah, that avatar is really cool, animal's my favourite Muppet character.

unfortunatety no, I haven't seen that battle between Animal and rich, I'm gonna try to find that , it must be somewhere on the net.

Yes! Animal's the bomb!

But in the history of comedy duos, Beaker is a masterful amalgam of so many wacky characters like Stan Laurel, Jerry Lewis . . .:P:P
genius!

Valerie is my favourite too! I've only heard the BWS version. Frank seems to really be singing with almost a sincere romantic verve (which is emphasized by the slow rate of the words), which we don't get to hear very often from him of course.
