The Things You See When You Haven't Got The Cash...
Or the camera...
Today, Dad and I cycled to a flea market in Veldhoven, which is a pretty long cycling trip.
It wasn't long before I spotted a painting with a very famous moustache combo on it! It was a 90s style painting with bright colours. Frank was in the
right half, on the foreground, wearing sunglasses. Towards the back was a character viewed from the rear.
"That's Frank Zappa," said the seller.
"Yeah, Id recognized him!"
"Really? Good job, a lot of people think it's Jules Deelder."
The seller's phone rang and was otherwise engaged for a few minutes. After that, I asked how much he wanted for it.
"€75, but for you I'll lower it a little."
Unfortunatey I had to excuse myself, with about 20 euros in my pocket I wouldn't be able to make such a purchase, and cycling home with it on a hot
day for that distance.. Besides it wasn't a very good likeness, and the aesthetics value wasn't... well...
I do sort of wish I'd been able to buy it. Or that I brought a camera.
Dad does have a camera in his phone, but he doesn't know how to get the pictures off it. I did take a picture, but it was already running late and he
had moved stuff in front of it, so only the right hand side with Zap on it was visible.
