Green Day

I've been a fan for years now, it's just a band that's stuck. I'm really sick of seeing this teeny-boppers going around in American Idiot t-shirts, it does my nut in!

Yeah the DK are good. You have to understand I was 11/12 when I started liking them though, please forgive me...

Im sorry I absolutely detest Green Day and everything they stand for. Same goes for all this melodic "emo" ( whatever the fuck that is ) shit doing the rounds.....NOT PROPER PUNK. Check out Doom, early Extreme Noise Terror or Electro Hippies, when UK Hardcore actually meant something. RANT OVER.

You have to remember that I was young when I first started listening, they were the first band I heard.

Well I like Green Day and i'm not young!
I agree I wudn't class them as 'punk' but wot the heck they sound gud.
Why is it when bands get into the mainstream they get dissed:puzzled:

hey man i totally dig your taste in tunes,i used to go to the barrel organ in b'ham in the late 80's early 90's and watch all this kinda shit, aswell as carcass, napalm death, bolt thrower, bastard kestral, hell bastard and a whole bunch of other cool stuff, and you like patton too!!!!

The Barrel Organ - Never been there, but I remember hearing about it! Also the Mermaid. All those bands you mentioned were great around that time, how things change eh? Still, like some of the other posts mentioned, I cant see similarities in todays new scene(s), because Im not involved in them, which is correct. dare I say, all this nu-Metal stuff that kids dig nowadays, has the same kind of buzz as the Hardcore / Grind scene had for me, so its all swings and roundabouts isnt it?

Yes man. Its just the way it goes. We are old and wretched now! Theres no point trying to "convince" these kids either, cos I know for a fact I wouldnt have given a shit if someone tried telling me about " the good old days" at that age.....
