It is Carnaval right now, which in neck of the woods is celebrated with:
-colours - residents and flags sporting the alternative Carnaval colours of the city;
-change of name - all towns and villages have a mock name that makes fun of one of the characteristics of the place;
-parade
-BEER.
-low-level jokes
-low-level music.
The music is of the variety that you can still sing along when you have consumed copious amounts of beer, with texts that is usually along the
Chocolate Salty Balls variety (it is really about the recipe but you have to be a complete twat to miss the subtext).

It's always been bad but there are some little things that I like. This year I liked Lithuania. Nice gloomy post-grunge.
