Slowness Resolved!

Today I got these e-mails from my web-server, explaining what the hell was going wrong with my site:
Quote:
Hello Bonny,

We have been made aware of a routing issue in Europe. This causes slow transfer speeds for approximately 5% of users in United Kingdom, the Netherlands and a small number of users in other European countries.

This is a problem that is not related directly to Servage but is a routing problem on the Internet. We are however working hard with the ISPs to get the issue resolved.

Most of customers and Internet users are not affected by this we just felt that informing you was the right thing to do. No work is required on your part.

We apologize for the inconvenience!

Kind regards,

Servage Hosting

Hello Bonny,

Just a short update on the routing issue. After working closely with customers and uplink providers we have been able to locate and resolve the routing issue in Europe.

Servage uses different international peerings to ensure good network connections to all countries. Unfortunately one of the peerings (Sprint) stopped accepting network packages (larger than 500 bytes). This resulted in bad throughput for approximately 5% of all European customers.

The main peering with Sprint is now closed down and traffic taking using different paths. Sprint traffic is still getting through but via a backup link.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience but this issue was unfortunately not under our control. Should you still experience problems kindly let us know and we will investigate.

Have a nice day.

Kind regards,

Servage Hosting

In first instance I thought that a popular site was slurping up bandwidth. Now Servagenet came up with this one. I think now that holidays are a reason. Virusses and other bad things show up always around holidays when the wizkids ae free from school. I can acces the forum as before now, just as BBP. I'm happy that everything is working properly and that not the last changes I made (publishing the review of Vivian) was the cause. pfff

We are back again, again some technical problems at servage.net

Carrier Fiber Problem

Our carrier is currently experiencing a fiber problem. A fiber has been cut. The fiber is redundant but for unknown reasons the second fiber did not take over. The carrier is working to resolve the issue.

This is very serious issue affecting many customers.
